The role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance digital platforms that support scientific research, laboratory instrumentation, data platforms, and advanced computational workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain HPC environments used for modeling, simulation, computational chemistry, materials science, bioinformatics, and advanced analytics.
- Collaborate with global IT teams to onboard new laboratories, instruments, and scientific applications, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to established IT governance standards and processes across I&T centers, including laboratory hardware, operating systems, connectivity, and lifecycle management.
- Work closely with global IT teams to drive continuous improvements and implement new technology solutions.
- Serve as the primary owner responsible for:
- HPC compute, storage, and network infrastructure
- User access governance and environment configurations
- Integration with cloud platforms and lab data sources
- Support initiatives for secure laboratory data transfer and staging.
- Assist with integration of scientific platforms such as LIMS, ELN, and analytics tools.
- Help minimize instrument downtime through fast, efficient, and secure remote support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with operating systems such as Red Hat, SUSE Linux, Ubuntu, and Hadoop (considered a plus).
- Experience with IT infrastructure supporting development laboratories, including desktops, servers, and instrument-connected systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, and others).
- Experience with identity and access management, particularly Active Directory (AD).
- 5 years prior system administration experience preferred.
- Knowledge of remote access and remote-control solutions for laboratory environments, enabling secure collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
Work Model: 2 days remote and 3 days onsite.
Important: Advanced English conversational skills are required, as the team leader is based outside the country.
