Overview of the role:

As a Senior Data Scientist at Flutter Brazil, you will lead initiatives that turn complex data into strategic insights and high-impact machine learning solutions. You’ll own the full lifecycle of data science projects—from exploration and modeling to deployment and monitoring—driving measurable value for business, product, and customer outcomes.

You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, product managers, and business leaders, using a modern data stack and diverse datasets. Your expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation will help shape data-driven decision-making and strengthen our analytical capabilities at scale.

What you’ll do:

• Lead end-to-end data science projects, from discovery to production.

• Apply advanced statistical and ML techniques to extract insights and solve complex business problems.

• Build, validate, and deploy predictive models that support product and strategic decisions.

• Communicate analytical findings clearly through high-quality visualizations and storytelling.

• Partner closely with engineering, product, and business teams to define requirements and drive impact.

• Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of existing models.

• Contribute to the development of best practices and mentor other data scientists.

• Stay up to date with emerging ML techniques, tools, and frameworks.

What you’ll bring:

You bring strong technical depth, autonomy, and the ability to translate complex data into business impact. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing decisions, and elevating the overall data science practice.

We require a candidate who has achieved or is capable of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; background in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, Statistics, Engineering, etc.).

• 3+ years of experience delivering data science or applied ML projects end-to-end.

• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow or PyTorch).

• Strong foundation in statistics: hypothesis testing, A/B testing, time series, probabilistic modeling.

• Solid SQL skills and experience with data wrangling; Spark or distributed computing is a plus.

• Ability to visualize and communicate insights clearly (matplotlib, seaborn, Power BI, Tableau).

• Experience with Databricks, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with adaptability and a continuous learning mindset.
