As a Data Ops Engineer on the Flutter Brazil Team, your mission is to ensure the reliability, stability, and observability of our entire data platform. You will help maintain a secure, scalable, and efficient environment, supporting both data operations and data products while driving continuous improvement in monitoring, automation, and governance.

You will work in one of the most demanding data environments in Brazil. Our Big Data platform processes over a billion records per day, requiring extremely high availability, low tolerance for failures, and the ability to deliver up-to-date reports on an hourly basis.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure the operation and maintenance of the entire Flutter Brazil data platform, guaranteeing availability, performance, and reliability.

• Implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions to detect and resolve issues in real time, ensuring data integrity and quality.

• Automate operational and maintenance processes to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and workflows for both Big Data and Small Data, ensuring data integrity during ingestion, processing, and storage.

• Develop and maintain integrations with partner systems for data ingestion or data sharing.

• Monitor and manage real-time ingestion pipelines to ensure accurate and readily available data for products and analytics.

• Implement strong data governance practices, ensuring compliance with LGPD and applying best security principles.

• Collaborate with data engineering, product, and security teams to address performance and stability issues.

We require a candidate who has achieved or is capable of the following:

• Experience managing and operating data platforms in high-volume, mission-critical environments.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana).

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of centralized logging, metrics, and APMs.

• Strong understanding of AWS solution architecture (IAM, EC2, S3, Security Groups, VPCs).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).

• Experience with Big Data and AWS analytics tools (Hive, Spark, Presto/Athena, Hudi, Kafka, Parquet, Avro, Glue Jobs, Redshift, Airflow, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, etc.).

• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).

• Experience with programming languages (Python, Java, Scala) and shell scripting (Linux/Unix).

• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large data volumes.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve ingestion and processing performance issues.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) applied to data products.

• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance (LGPD, data security).

• Experience in high-performance production environments, focusing on scalable and resilient solutions.

• Background in the financial industry and/or fintechs with exposure to data operations.
