Overview of the role:

As a Senior Data Engineering Manager on the Data Platform team, you will lead the mission to build and scale a modern data platform that supports analytics, regulatory reporting, and AI-driven products. You will manage a multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers, DataOps, and Data Quality specialists, guiding the transformation of raw data into trusted, business-ready datasets that enable decision-making and innovation across Flutter Brazil.

Acting as both a strategic partner to the Head and a technical reference for the team, you will define priorities, set direction, and shape the evolution of a scalable, high-performance data infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the delivery of clean, reliable, and accessible data, while fostering a culture of automation, quality, and continuous improvement.

This is a remote-first role with occasional in-person gatherings designed to strengthen connection, alignment, and collaboration across the team.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers, DataOps, and Data Quality specialists, ensuring clarity of priorities and alignment with business objectives.

• Partner with business, tech, product, analytics, and data science stakeholders to deliver trusted, business-ready data that enables decision-making and innovation.

• Guide the evolution of the company’s data platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and compliant with governance and regulatory standards.

• Oversee the adoption and scaling of modern data technologies such as AWS, Databricks, Spark, dbt, and Airflow, ensuring adherence to governance guidelines and best practices.

• Foster a culture of reliability, automation, experimentation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure best practices in data observability, monitoring, reconciliation, quality, and governance.

• Support compliance and regulatory reporting requirements through high-quality data foundations.

We require a candidate who has achieved or is capable of the following:

• Strong track record in Data Platform, delivering business impact at scale.

• Hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, Databricks, and AWS (Big Data stack).

• Experience leading and developing high-performing data engineering teams.

• Knowledge of data observability, monitoring, and quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, Datadog).

• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written).

• Ability to work effectively in a global, distributed environment.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance-driven data environments.

• Experience with Data Mesh, domain-driven design, privacy, or metadata/catalog solutions.

• Previous experience in iGaming, betting, or other regulated industries.

• Ease in executive-level communication and influencing technical direction.
